sailing

Last weekend we went to Zeebrugge. Jonas tried out his little sailboat, 

which was a handmade Christmas gift. (pictures above)

The Farther Bruin was put back into the water. The restoration process 

has almost reached its end! (pictures below)

waiting for my baby boy

The last weeks were very tiring. Full time working, being mum and
being in your last month of pregnancy isn't the best combination.
Tuesday was my last day at school. My students bought me flowers
and chocolates.
Now I'm busy finishing the last things that need to be ready when the baby
comes. In between I rest as much as possible.
I can't wait to hold that little baby boy in my arms!

Last weekend we spent two days in Zeebrugge. Saturday we were 

visiting the Farther Bruin team who was working on the boat. 

The boat looks like new after 8 months of work. Almost ready to go 

back into the water!

We had a great weekend at the seaside. Today we build a castle in the 

sand.

So much work, before the sea destroys everything. But it's the pleasure 

of making, the pleasure of watching what happens when the sea is 

coming...

It made me think of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of sand mandala's 

which symbolise the Buddhist belief in the transitory nature of material 

life.

Last Saturday at Colijnsplaat, Farther Bruin sailed the last race of the
winter season.

veere

We're in Veere for three days. It's a lovely town and we're staying in a 

beautiful house. 

I feel so lucky to be here. 

Since Jonas is walking, he doesn't want to do anything else. 

Sometimes it's difficult, because he always changes direction and he 

never goes the way you want to go. But it's actually funny and cute. 

He also learned to say "no", "nee" in Dutch. He uses it if there's something 

he doesn't like or if he's a little scared, often also waving his little finger in 

the air at the same time. 

We were at the seaside today and Jonas put his finger in the air and 

said "njen, njen, njen" to the big waves crashing on the beach.

Sad news has reached me today. The dead of Joris Ghekiere, 

a great artist and teacher. R.I.P.

Yesterday was our last night in Denmark. We stayed in an apartment
by the sea, in a town near the ferry terminal.
Ending our trip with a rainbow, just like we started it.

This morning at Bettina's place; Jonas always eats everything
that's on his plate.
In de afternoon we continued our trip and we drove from Fyn
to Sealand. Another wonderful place to stay for a few days.
