From our walk yesterday.

for opa

For opa. I remember those cold winters. When it it was freezing so hard 

that we could walk across the canals of Damme. On Sundays you liked to
take us to places with one of your fancy cars. Then we drove to the nearest
lake, where you always swam -in summer and in winter-. 

Except this day, the ice was too thick to make a hole in it. So we walked 

over it.

I miss you.

The students are really looking forward to the first snow. 

Last week I promised them it would snow, as the weather forecast 

had predicted. Unfortunately only a few snowflakes fell from the sky. 

Not even enough to make a snowball.

kintsugi

Jonas broke one of my favorite plates a few weeks ago. Several
days later I read about Kintsugi, an old Japanese method for
repairing broken ceramics.
This morning I repaired my broken ceramics and saw confirmed
what I knew already;
if something you love is broken, you have to fix it.
It will become even more beautiful and valuable.

building a greenhouse

I got a greenhouse for Christmas from Jan-Jakob! One of the best
presents ever! I'll know what to do next spring and summer.
